Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a great method to achieving a brighter smile, whether it be for an event, or simply for yourself. At Smile Clinic we offer both In-Chair and Take-Home methods for whitening, to suit you and your lifestyle best and achieve your dream smile makeover.
What to expect at my appointment?
Initial Consult
Prior to commencing whitening treatment, an initial consult with your dentist will always take place. This ensures that both the dentist and patient have a clear understanding of the expectations and primary concerns of the patient. The initial consult is also a great opportunity for the patient to bring up any other dental concerns, or determine whether any treatment needs to be performed prior to commencing teeth whitening.

Once a plan has been made for the desired approach of teeth whitening, the dentist will take a mold or scan of your teeth to fabricate custom-fitting bleach trays which will be used during treatment and maintenance.
In-Chair or Take-Home
When seeking whitening treatment, there are 2 methods to which this can be done.

In-Chair whitening is performed by your dentist in one appointment, where 4 applications of bleach are applied in one sitting with different intensities of blue light. Following this, you will then receive your bleach trays and top-up syringes, which will be used to maintain your whitening.

Take-Home whitening is more preferable for patients seeking a gradual result which they can control in the comfort of their own home. This method involves receiving custom-fitted bleach trays, which you will use at home along with professional whitening gel to achieve gradual results.
Maintenance
Whether you opt for In-Chair or Take-Home whitening, both methods require maintenance to ensure that you preserve that bright smile.
Top-up syringes are the best way to maintain your whitening, which will be used with your custom-fitted bleach trays. Your dentist will provide you with instructions to assist with use and application of the bleach and trays, as well as guidelines of how much product, and how often to use it. And if you happen to run out - not to worry! We have more in stock to purchase.

It is important to note that teeth whitening can often cause minor temporary sensitivity, either during or following treatment. If you are prone to sensitivity, your dentist may recommended pain-relief medication prior to your appointment.
